Like many, I’ve lived a life of unhappiness and joy, loneliness and love, apathy and purpose. I’ve also come to recognize the truth in the Buddha’s maxim that life, ultimately, is suffering. Which is why these days I yearn for the mystics’ promise of a peace that surpasses understanding. I want it for me, for my loved ones, for the world. Lastly, I see now that while Doug must undertake this journey he cannot complete it. The belief in Doug as something separate and apart from the One is the whole problem. Ergo, beware of this Doug character.
